Snap CSS Style ("the Extension", version 1.0) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices for the Snap CSS Style Chrome extension. The Extension is designed with privacy in mind - all processing happens locally in your browser, and we do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. The Extension requires Chrome version 88 or later.

Snap CSS Style operates entirely within your browser. We do not:

  • Collect any personal information
  • Track your browsing history

Local Processing

All color and typography extraction happens locally in your browser. The Extension:

  • Analyzes web page styles using JavaScript in your browser
  • Processes color and font data without sending it anywhere
  • Generates color palettes and exports entirely on your device
  • Never transmits extracted design data to external servers

Chrome Permissions

The Extension requires the following permissions to function:

  • activeTab: Allows the Extension to analyze styles on the current tab only when you click the extension icon. We cannot access tabs unless you explicitly activate the Extension.
  • storage: Used to save your preferences (like preferred color format) locally in your browser. This data never leaves your device.

Third-Party Services

The Extension includes optional integration with TheColorAPI to fetch human-readable color names. When you use this feature:

  • Only color hex values are sent to TheColorAPI
  • No personal information or website data is transmitted
  • Color name results are cached locally to minimize API calls
  • This feature can be disabled in the Extension settings

Data Storage

The Extension stores minimal data locally in your browser:

  • Your preferred color format (HEX, RGB, HSL, or OKLCH)
  • Cached color names to improve performance
  • Extension UI preferences (widget position, etc.)

This data is stored using Chrome's local storage API and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Extension after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
